HOLIDAY SAFETY TIPS 

Parents, the holiday season is upon us. As we begin our holiday celebrations and holiday shopping, below are a few tips and reminders on ways to stay safe during this busy time of year: 

Shopping Tips 

•When you are out shopping, never leave valuables sitting in your car so they can be seen by others. 
•If you are shopping at night, always park in a well-lit area of the parking lot.
 •Try not to carry large amounts of cash with you. 
•If you feel uncomfortable walking to your vehicle alone, ask the store security person to escort you.
 •Please, please if you take your little ones shopping with you, know where they are at all times. Talk about who they should look for or what to do in the event you get separated. Remind them to never leave a store with anyone.

Classwork & Homework Expectations

October 16, 2015

Dear Parents,

Due to recent flooding and our indefinite two hour delay it has become necessary to increase homework/ projects in order to keep up with the State’s educational expectations.  Therefore this means your child will have homework every weekend until further notice. I have high expectations for your child and I will do all that I can to help your child achieve those expectations. You can help. I will be expecting all work assigned in class to be completed. Of course, all children do not work at the same pace. Some children will get their work done in class and some will not. Whether or not your child gets his or her work done in class has no effect on their grade. If your child does not complete an assignment in class, he or she will be required to complete it at home, with the exception of assessments (test).  The way you can help is to ask your child every school day if schoolwork/ homework needs to be done, check agenda books and if so, make sure your child completes the assignment.

Homework/ Projects are to be completed at home. Your help and support will not only make your child more successful in school this year but will instill good study habits that will last a lifetime.

We had a wonderful time constructing atoms, learning about butterflies, and planning, purchasing and bagging groceries.

Please make sure that your child is coming to school prepared.  It disrupts their day when they are not ready for instruction.

Materials:

1. At least 3 sharpened pencils

2. Notebook paper

3. Signed agenda book

4. Completed homework assignments
